Overview
For the last six years I’ve operated Studio1761; a state-of-the-art digital imaging studio in Boulder Junction, Wisconsin, creating fine-art gallery exhibitions that interpret and promote the performing arts, with a special emphasis on dance. Our Mission is to articulate the beauty of both the dancer and the dance by converting the activity from the performing to the visual arts.
We excel at showcasing the entire art form: Dance, The Dancer, The Learning Process, and the Performance.
We also offer professional business head shots, special event photography, and family/senior portraiture. We serve dancers, parents of dancers, instructors, choreographers, and companies – anyone who has an ongoing need to communicate ability, technical expertise, virtuosity, and beauty.
Our award-winning exhibitions have been featured in many venues across the area, online, and in galleries nationwide.

The Dance
We work collaboratively with dancers to combine their talent and interpretation with photographic artistry and technical ability to produce unique, creative images. It’s a process that utilizes the best abilities of a team of creative people to showcase the beauty and grace of both the dance and the dancer.

The Dancer
Dance artists work hard, and it shows. We work equally hard to create images that showcase their unique talents, ability, and creativity. Since dance is temporary and pictures are permanent, we specialize in what we do best: Taking the time to show them at their best.

The Learning Process
Studio1761 is honored to collaborate with Selah Academy; a dance school directed by New World School of the Arts graduate, Brittany Kernohan.
Selah Academy’s mission is to change lives through dance and to provide high quality dance education to every student.
The academy concentrates on each student’s character as well as dance technique, believing as strongly in the power of a great dance education as about creating beautiful, loving, and strong students.
This is accomplished by administering the American Ballet Theater® National Training Curriculum, a 9-level program of age-appropriate, outcome-based levels to provide the highest quality ballet training, integrating high quality artistic instruction with the basics of dancer health and child development.

The Performance
The result of all the years of rehearsal and preparation is often a public performance of dance; We express the work, discipline, routine, learning, sacrifice, intensive training, stamina, perseverance, motivation, creativity, resilience, confidence, and adaptability that were needed to achieve this level of artistry.
